The role of staging and adjuvant chemotherapy in stage I Malignant ovarian germ cell tumors (MOGTs): the MITO-9 study

Patients affected by stage I dysgerminoma and immature teratoma can be spare the risk of acute and late morbility and mortality associated with adjuvant chemotherapy. Chemotherapy should be reserved to relapse with high cure rate. Incomplete peritoneal surgical staging is associated with recurrence and surgical staging should be performed. Yolk sac histology worsens the prognosis.
