Reasons for Low Rates of Lung Cancer Screening

To the Editor We read with interest the research conducted by Jemal and Fedewa on the low rate of lung cancer screening by low-dose computed tomography (LDCT), recommended by the US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF). The authors are to be congratulated for their well-conducted study. They reported no change in screening rates following publication of the USPSTF guideline, remaining to be very low in 2010 and 2015 (3.3%-3.9%).
