Enlargement of an inferior alveolar nerve canal (IANC) on radiographic imaging can indicate the presence of a wide variety of pathologic entities. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons have the unique opportunity to regularly examine panoramic radiographs, and must exercise proficient clinical judgement when noting abnormal findings on imaging.
