Human-Machine Collaboration—A New Form of Paternalism?

To the Editor Innovation in the delivery of US cancer care is needed; we agree with Goldstein and colleagues on their accurate description of the problem—rapidly increasing cost, an inadequate workforce, the need to expand use of nonphysician clinicians as a means of leveling cost inflation and widening access. There is certainly a strong potential in exploring the use of human-machine collaboration in the treatment of cancer.
