(2018) report a cell-cycle regulator gene cocktail identified from young cardiomyocytes that enables mouse, rat, and human cardiomyocyte proliferation and promotes heart regeneration after infarction, defying the non-dividing nature of adult mammalian cardiomyocytes and implying a new way to treat or prevent heart failure.
