We read with interest the prospective, multicentre, cohort study (FIRES trial) by Emma Rossi and colleagues.1 In this study involving 340 patients with endometrial cancer, Rossi and colleagues reported a high degree of diagnostic accuracy in detecting extra-uterine spread, thus suggesting that sentinel-lymph-node mapping might replace full lymphadenectomy in patients with endometrial cancer and apparent organ-confined disease.
