[Correspondence] Predictive gene-expression score for follicular lymphoma

An article by Sarah Huet and colleagues1 reported a novel prognostic score, derived from the expression profile of 23 genes, which could predict progression-free survival in patients with previously untreated follicular lymphoma (5-year progression-free survival 26% in the high-risk group vs 73% in the low-risk group). Unfortunately, the score was not predictive of overall survival, and the study did not report other important outcome measures, such as the time to development of symptomatic disease requiring second-line therapy.
